SHINY SIDE UP 2012

This year has been action packed for us with almost one event a month since January and even more to come to finish out the year. Each event is/was ground breaking with great exposure to new people and we had a blast at each one! All this hard work and dedication is put forth to promote our brand and bicycle events we've been building for the past 10 years. This year our show; Shiny Side Up 2012 will be the biggest and best one yet. Hyland Family Bicycles is presenting this years show at History Park in San Jose which is hosted by us and co-hosted by Huntington Beach Bicycle Company. We have participants coming from various parts of the country; new builds, new vendors and new attractions. This year we have also teamed up with The Others Bicycle Club to host our Pre-Show Ride which is happening Saturday, July 28, 2012. Stay tuned for more info on our upcoming events! For now, mark July 28-29, 2012 on your calendars to enjoy a bicycle weekend for the history books! Thanks for your past, present and future support!

eBay Green Team Cruiser

It's National Bike Month! For Bike to Work Day we've teamed up with eBay; one of the largest companies in the world! And to help promote and inspire their movement for going green, we put together this two-wheeled green machine. It features our Signature "Hard Time"  frame, rolling stock is a 26"x3" Rear wheel laced to a 2 speed kick back hub and up front is a 29"x1.5" wheel. Both Candy Blue Powder coated rollers are wrapped in Schwalbe Big Apples, White Spokes and Nipples and Candy Red Powder Coated hubs for some good contrast. The Granny Apple Green Hard Time and Fenders were powder coated by World Metal Finishing in Santa Clara, Ca. Once the frame and fenders got in our hands we scuffed them down, laid down some graphics and buried it all in clear. These photos do not do this bike justice! Everything pops in the sun... Come check it out in person at the Good Guys Summer Get-Together, June 2-3, 2012 in Pleasanton, Ca. This cruiser will be displayed with prime examples of custom, restored, vintage, classic, road and lowrider bicycles in the first ever bicycle display at a Good Guys show dubbed Cruiser Rama!

This one features our signature "Hard Time" frame. 26"x3" rear wheel laced to a Sturmey Archer 2 spd. kick back hub, front wheel is 29"x1.5" laced to a high flange sealed hub. Rear wheel is outlined by a custom rear fender with a subtle ducktail and handmade polished aluminum struts. Built not Bought

Everyone appreciates a custom bicycle, car, truck, space ship or whatever it is you're into...
This custom may not go well with your skinny jeans, ironic tee shirt and mustache, but you've gotta respect the time, energy and skill put into this cruiser. Joey of The Others BC designed, fabricated, machined, assembled and painted this freedom machine. It's not an off the shelf frame that was chopped up and pieced back together. It hosts a one-off frame, bars, forks, fenders, seat, custom headlights, grips, countless hours of body and paint work; all done by Joey. Sit back and soak up the details; it may inspire you to step away from your computer and build, not buy your next project...

Thanks for the support and sharing your photos, Joey!

You've created a Monster!

If you're gonna be a Bear, be a Grizzly.
I think that's what Bill "Junior" Parkman of the Chopaderos BC had in mind when he envisioned this beast. Junior reached out to fellow club member; Gary of Lowlife Bikes to fabricate a custom frame to hang these huge 36" Coker rollers from. Once the frame was complete, it was covered in heavy metal-flake for more bling (as if the wheels didn't make enough of a statement) The photos don't do this bike justice. You have to park your cruiser in this monsters shadow to really understand its massiveness. It makes your cruiser look like it should have training wheels...

Of course it's for sale, I'm glad you asked... $1400 or best offer.
Can't wait to see what Junior cranks out after this build is gone. Til' then...
